dumps = turndown before axle

i agree that the exhaust gases would compress up at start up, and make it so the gasses pass right by.

Yep. It doesn't flow like water flows. I would reccomend if you don't have cats on, that you at least open up the cut outs frequently so that you can drain the water that can collect in them.
