Beginner Needing Ideas For Good Engine Mods
Hey im new to all this stuff. I just got my 02 gt about 4 months ago. I need to know some good mods that ill get the best performance. I just put a cold air instake on it the other day and it made a big difference. Thanks for all the help. Also what kind of engines do 02 gt's come with? I dont know if mine is a SOHC or a DOHC. Is there a way of looking?

As HMUSN said. You are running a sohc 4.6L V8.
Best mods to start with are a CAI (which you claim to have), a nice mid pipe and cat back exhaust sytem, a set of gears, and a good tune. From that point you will have a nice quick car that is budget friendly and will good to drive any and everywhere. Anything after that is all on you and what your goals will be with the car.

I would go with a 4:10 ring and pinion gear

Yup....anything higher than that and you will be kicking your self in the ass.
4:10 if you stay all motor or spray. 3:73 if you want to go F.I. or anything like that. For the tuners look at the Diablo and the Sniper. Both great and easy to work with.

welcome to the forum, do a lot of reading and researching. it takes time but it definably does help you to figure out what you want.
but most people straight with cai and exhaust.

welcome man, heres a few mods that will make your car more enjoyable:
short throw shifter (3rd gear can be a real bitch) gears, either 3.73's or 4.10's CAI (which you have) nice cat back exhaust system mid pipe, off road if you dont have to pass emissions, Catted if you do have to pass emissions throttle body/plenum combo 70 or 75 MM. accufab makes good ones, i'm running professional products 70mm and its nice. i've heard about bbk's tb's sticking on occasion. a good tuner, SCT, Diablo, or Sniper. lowering springs, stock mustangs sit way too high. i put eibach pro springs on mine and it makes a big difference in handling and it looks a lot better too. all this stuff and you'll have a nice, quick mustang!

Go to sites like Musclemustangsandfastfords.com and look at their project cars. You will be able to read what parts they use, why they use them and how to install them. They show you the cars from day1 to track day with everything in between. Check out project Ice box. They do everything from the easy intake mods to full suspension and supercharger that pushes the car to a 9s 1/4

short shifter and gears are great first mods...after that get a catback and a tuner/chip and then start modding the rest of everything such as suspension...the rest of your exhaust ect..you will learn more about different mods as you try or hear about new stuff and by reading the forums
