drag radials on stock 17x9

whats the biggest tire size i can fit on my stock 17x9 rim so that i can get the best traction? or...do i just have to get a wider rim to accomidate the proper tire?

I believe a 275 40 17 is the correct size for a 9" rim. I currently have some Nittos of that size on some 8" rims but you loose some of the contact patch due to the narrower wheels.

This may be dumb but I thought the gt rims were 8" wide

i'm not even sure myself. haha i thought they were nine but i could be wrong...as a matter of fact i probably am wrong.

03/04 Cobra wheels are 17x9 all other pony wheels are 17x8

my friend had 315 nittos on stock 9in cobra rims... but nittos are actually 275's in any other tire size
