How Hard To Install Tranny


k i bought a new tranny cause i mine is almost completly shot, how hard is it to take out the old one and intall a new one, and what yall think it would cost to get it done at a shop if it is to hard

no its a cobra tranyy from the same year mustang, i think its a tremec

I'm assuming you mean 03/04 Cobra. If that's the case, then yes.

its confusing. is 02 the year they didnt do a US cobra?

Ford only made 100 '02 cobras and they were only released in Australia and they had the same tranny as you... a T-3650

Is your new tranny a 6 speed or 5 speed???

i could do it in 3hrs, but i have done it too many times.

if your doing the clutch do get a lineup tool. makes life alot easier. other than that pretty straight forward.

the tranny is pretty easy, its harder to take the GD starter out than the tranny

Just get a long extension and go through the motor mount to get that top bolt.

Thats how I got to it.

Thank god I have a lift a my disposal cause that would be a bitch to do if it was on the ground.

Waaayyy too many times. Bud light stock went up like crazy back then though.

It's not that bad.You just need some jackstands to prop the car up. I like to get it up about 15" at four points for this type of work. I wouldn't know what to do with a lift. I have gotten so use to doing everything off the ground. I have almost perfected at home Mustang engine removal. I just had to get some taller jackstands and a nice engine hoist that will lift the entire front end of the car.
