Decided Against N2O

Well after thinking about not being able to run N2O on my setup, and not being able to switch between N2O and all motor setups with my tuner, I am now back to the drawing board on my next mod after gears and driveshaft.

1. I've considered new cams in the past and now that option has come back. What kind of horsepower gains will I see from new cams on my 4V? Cost for cams? Cost for install?

2. Then I also thought that cams will obviously be quite expensive. So I thought what about bolt-ons that I don't have yet. Throttle body, UDPs, electric water pump, PHP intake spacer, LT headers, and coils. LT headers would probably be the best hp gains there, but if what I have read is right then that is half the cost of cams.

3. And then there is suspension work. I'm getting Eibach springs for Christmas (or so I highly believe) and a driveshaft this winter. Then there is control arms (how will this affect my car exactly?), flywheel, clutch, and the list goes on.

Opinions please and answer the questions I have if you would.

I can but I want to be able to do it on the fly. I'd have to buy chips and all that stuff and I don't want to have to mess with it, that is unless I'm making it out to be harder than I thought it would be. I just don't want the money I spent on the tuner to be down the drain.

why dont you just leave it on the notirous tune all the time than?

id just stick w/ boltons for now i guess. get 3.73s(cuz youre a manual), lt headers, and underdrive pulleys. than for suspension, get the eibachs and some steeda upper and lower rear control arms for traction and very important imo, get full length subframe connectors

Actually 4.10s are suggested, on Machs, for FI and 4.30 for N/A but I don't know if I want to lose my top end because I do street on occasion. Maybe once every three months or so, but that's why I would want to be able to flip the switch on the go. I don't go looking for races I just happen to run into them. I've had my car since April last year and I've only raced 3 cars. But I do plan on taking it to the track next summer.

4.10s wont limit your top end that much. youll be able to go higher than 100 in 4th and if your doing that on city streets, good luck to ya

yes but as stated machs have a higher redline than gts so the mach will be able to get a higher speed in 4th at redline compared to a gt

When I had my nitrous set up I had a flip switch on my SCT tuner. I'ts just a flick away from retarding the timing for nitrous. Really easy set up and the switch can be left in the glove box or put into a neat little switch panel... Sometimes, and only on rare ocasions, the car would studder. and once it shut off. I just started it right back up and everything was good to go.

I just had a thought. If I bought an SCT chip, could I store my tunes and do any changes with my tuner through my XCal, and then when I had to make adjustments to the chip I could just burn the tunes to the chip? If that were the case I'd just need to get a chip and a custom nitrous tune and then I'd be set because I already have a tune for the motor. I just don't want to have to get a new custom tune everytime I do something new.

I'm not sure what you mean...

There is a flip switch that will "piggyback" your current tuner... I think... That is what you need...
