1999 gt mpg

I checked my mpg on my car because it seemed like I wasn't getting very many and I got 100 miles out of half a tank so according to my calculations that's 13 mpg. Is this typical?

Where do you do the majority of your driving? City or Highway?

All right so I guess that just means that half a tank isn't the same as the gauge reading half

I just calculated it as 14.8 mpg and the check engine light came on as a small fuel leak. Could this be my problem?

Yeah but it says it's only a small leak down to .04". I just changed out the fuel pump too for a 255 lph svt.

Am I supposed to use any sealant or anything on the gas tank cover?

Wish mine got that on the highway, most ive ever gotten was 22.7mpg on the highway with cruise set at 75 watching the needle creep from Full to Empty... maybe its time I invest some time and money into installing a CAI + air filter and new spark plugs

I'm not convinced that you know how to calculate your fuel mileage. What method are you using? My GT was averaging 22 mpg in stock form. After the Procharger installation, it has been averaging 17.5 mpg. And that's with setting up the tune a little rich to be safe.

Every time I fill up I always reset my trip meter to 0 and at empty (when check fuel light comes on) I check the mileage and I take the number of miles traveled and divide it by the ammount of fuel it took to fill the tank completely.

That's exactly what I did.
