minimal mods=12 sec. e/t?

theres a guy that i met recently and he's gota '99 GT. he's gota mach1 functional hoodscoop, 3.73, a JTL CAI, maybe some pullies and i didnt see any headers. i'm sure he's gotta tune and he's got nitto drags. he SAYS he dips into high 12's. is he full of sh*t or is that actually possible.

I call BS on that one. The shaker system he has is probably the CDC and it is no better functioning than the Mach system. It helps get some cool air under the hood but not much hp added. Even with gears and stickies at sea level, I don't think that car would see 12s. I would ask to see one of his slips. I'll bet he can't produce one.

I've never seen a 99-04 car do that without some kind of forced induction, nitrous or 5,000 under the hood and frame

your still talking 2500 in heads and cams plus installation, probably another 800 in tires. At least thats what it runs for those kind of parts and installation around here.

thats a little steep...good set of nitto drags will run bout 300 bux...i've seen heads for bout 12-1500. but even then i've seen some mustangs hit high 12's without heads and cams...for example...you stick a set of 4.30 or even 4.10 in a manual trans car with a back seat delete, take out the spare tire, get some good stickies, long tubes, pulleys, cai, good set of pipes, good tune, maybe some intake mods(no nitrous or super)a good stiff suspension and i'll bet a whole dollar that with the right driver that sucker will hit a 12.

yeah I was talking 2v. I've never seen a set of nitto drags run 300 for 17s, though I need some for my 18s, streetable that is. Anyway I guess it is possible, but by the time you add all the mods what is that gonna put someone at?

$4,000 tops. i think that even $4,000 for all that stuff is a little too much...maybe even $3,500. 2 nitto drags for a set of 17's will run you $169 a piece. for 18's maybe $200 a piece...remember you only need two drag radials.

yea those are them...the nitto drag radials...but they just came out with a new model so u might be able to get the originals a little cheaper. As far as your front two tires go...just get whatever high speed tires you can from nitto..they dont gotta be d/r. good luck!

if they are the same price go with the BFG's...i mean even chip foose uses BFG's they gotta be good! i've heard only good things bout BFG's. i had BFG mudders on my 2000 f-150 and if they performed awsome!!! better than any other tire i know of so u can just imagine how good the D/R are.
