Shifting Normally For Everyday Driving?
So when you are not driving the mustang hard. What rpm's do you shift at so you dont use much gas and stuff like that. Just wonder from the guys who drive their mustangs everyday? I have an 2002 Gt.

It all depends on your driving style and gear set up. You can shift at 2000 rpm and make plenty of city speed without burning the extra fuel, or you might have to shift at 3000 if you don't want to piss people off from behind. It's really up to your needs. I personally don't pay attention to that shit and found my self shifting and driving well below the 3000 RPM limit all day long.

yea normally i shift like 3000 3500 and if im driving between 35 and 45 i used 4th gear and downshift wen nessesary...

I have 3.27 gears and I normally shift around 2500 unless I need the extra power.

yeah i shift at about 2500 and under. usally 2000. and piss people off too haha but not on purpose just to save gas. but yeah i was just wondering how high i can go without burning too much.

Gas....a necessary evil....I guzzle gas weather driving hard or normal so I dont pay much attention to it... 4:10 pushing me so im already in the gas hole...lol

Your not gonna save much gas by shifting at 2200 RPMS. I shift a little ove 3K normally

i hate u. the 87 out here is at least 3.30 p/gallon. well its not so bad on me cuz the cobra's just sitting now. my hondas better on the wallet

2500 RPMs here. Gas is $3.50 for 91 octane in California. The 100 octane unleaded is $6.50 a gallon.

If I were to shift at 2K that would KILL my mileage. I usually shift at 3K if I'm going easy.
