It is recomended that you go with 4:10's or lower being that you have a mod motor. 3:73's are for the pushrod motors that aren't as apt to run in the higher RPM's that the mod motors crave. The 5.0 pushrod motors make more power in the lower RPM ranges than the mod motors do. The overhead cams that a mod motor has are built for higher RPM's and that is where your mod motor will make it's power, in the higher RPM ranges. Why do you think those pesky imports rev so high, it's where they make their power with the SOHC or DOHC system. You won't be disappointed if you go with the 4:10's, 4:30's or even the 4:56's and it isn't as big of a difference in MPG as everyone thinks!

i was thinking about 4.10 but everyone knock on them because of gas mileage i have an auto if that makes a difference about what would the increase in rpms at 70mph be from stock. 700rpm?

Welcome to MM. I am in the OKC area and don't know any shops in the Tulsa area. I will see if I can get a good word on some shops and let you know.

oh and it might increase your rpms about 300-400 for the 4.10 swap. you might lose 3-4 mpg but another reason youll lose gas mielage is becasue you wont be able to get over the kick in the pants feel the 4.10 will give you!!!

Jim can do the work but you would have to leave the car and if he is driving from Tulsa, that may not work the best. Sent you a PM.
