Rebuild/Bore Out 4.6 Or Supercharge It?

I have a 99 gt with some tasteful engine mods. I got the car with 107XXX and it has 111XXX on it now. My question is pretty easy. should i rebuild and bore out the engine adding some power (also what do you think this would cost and what heads should i get?) or get a vortech supercharger kit and run it with around 6-7 psi

let me know your thoughts

If you are adding displacement and boost go with the highest flowing head you can find. I stroked mine and am planning on boost. I chose patriot stage 3 heads. If you are not adding boost stick with a stage 2 head. I love the power band on my stroker but it does need boost especially with the stage 3 heads. If you do go with a stroker (with no plans for boost) go highest compression you can run on pump gas and spray the hell out of it. The cost on my rebuild was expensive but I also purchased heads and cams along with a full forged and balanced stroker kit. Parts alone were over 5k all said and done. I upgraded other things too such as intake, injectors, new maf, ect... I had to rebuild mine because I had spun 3 bearings and had 2 rods knocking. For the money I could have had the baddest sc out there (motor would not have supported it). It is all in what you want, I want 800 to 1000 hp with a big turbo. Those are my goals, those are not most people's goals. If you want a 400 rwhp car and will be happy with that go sc, if you want more rebuild and save for a power adder.

+1...
I would definitely rebuild the motor first keeping in mind that my next mod would be to add boost.

You will have to rebuild if you s/c anyway, so you might as well budget that for starters. If you want boost get dished pistons, if you don't want boost get flat tops. It is gonna cost the same for pistons, h-beams, and a good crank no matter if you go n/a or s/c. So, you need to decide your power goals first and foremost. good rotating assembly is gonna put you out around $1k depending on what setup you want. The thing to remember is if you are going to run FI and you build the internals to handle boost, your are not going to be making much N/A power while you wait on your power adder. If you decide to go bottle fed, get the highest compression you can and some good heads and cams.
