S/C Compatibility...

Will a vortech S trim of a 5.0 fit on a 4.6........just the head unit, or are they diferent?

the head unit will fit.
the bracket won't
but you can buy a 96-98 bracket for it

i knew the mounting stuff wouldn't fit.......

i just wanted to see if i could use a head unit of a 5.0, there seem to be an abundance of used 5.0 blowers but minimal ones off a 4.6

i beg to differ, the rotation is different in the headunits i believe, and the inlet piping is different. i will say they wont fit. let the debate begin...

the supercharger should fit if you can find/make a bracket for it... As for th compressor, they can be clocked to face in several different directions, so that's not the problem. Im sure it's possible.

I think on the 5.0 the pulley faces towards the front of the car and on the 4.6 it faces towards the engine. So basically, the SC is backwards...

It would work but I think it'd be a real pain in the ass to get it to work... it'd be a lot of custom fabrication...

you just need to buy the kit for your year car. the supercharger head will fit

yeah, the 5.0's s/c's the pulley is forward and on the 4.6's they're backwards that's why I said it'd work but it'd need to be custom fabricated heavily... lol

It won't work. it will suck instead of blow. You can't dream up or fabricate something to make that work on a 4.6 and fit it under the hood.
