Sounds Like I Have A Damn Bird Under The Hood
i had the car down while i waited for my trans to get here a couple months back. everything ran fine when i shut it down, but after i installed the new trans i now have a noisy chirp under the hood. it sounds like a really bad belt squeaking, i took the belt off and eliminated that possibility. after looking some more, it is coming from the top end in the back behind the plenum. it does it when the car is creating most vacum like when it is on its way down the rpm band. it does it no matter if its idling or if i am driving, cold or hot, etc. i have a new intake manifold to put on, but would like to fix the problem before i do anything. anyone ever heard or had anny issues with something like this. i just got another key made for it today, so i will drive it a little bit while i do a little work on my truck.

I had a similar problem when I installed my CAI, TB, & Plenum. While I was installing my CAI my buddy attached my TB to the Plenum. About two weeks later three of the four bolts fell out that were holding the TB on. I got a horrid squeeking noise becuase there was a tiny air leak. It only did it at idle of cruize. If I were at light to WOT, the sound went away. Fortunately for me, all three bolts landed on my intake manifold and stayed there until I found them and put them back in. Maybe you have a bit of an air leak somewhere like I did

i think i may have a cracked intake manifold. sounds like its from the passenger side, but i cant see a crack, messed up vacum line, or anything. the sound is decieving, and might be coming from the lower part of it.

you wont see a crack in the manifold, they are almost impossible to see

i changed the intake manifold to day and the chirping went away. i guess i had a crack in it. i will look for one or test is within the next couple days. i had an intake with the aluminum x-over that i decided to go ahead and install. i opened up the ports before i installed it, but now i have to make a new alternator bracket for it.

Get a spray bottle and mist water around your manifold when the engine stumbles you have found the source of you leak. Back in the day WD40 was used what an F-n mess!

i did it with brake cleaner, that is how i always found vacum leaks. the whole top of the engine was covered and still did it. i just changed the intake out and no more chirping.

i still had a little chirp after replacing the intak, but thought it was the belt since it decided to tear off 2 ribs. i replaced the belt this morning, but still have the damn chirp. it is not as bad as it was before, but is starting to really piss me off! anyone else with an idea on a possible problem?
