Search Is No Help For My Question

well i was unsuuccesful in finding an answer to this question using search. i think this is a common problem with 99 fords with the digital odometer, because i remember it on a 99 f150 i test drove once. ok so the problem is the odometer just cuts out from time to time for what seems like no reason. and then again for no reason it comes back on. there are no correlations as to when it cuts off or for how long it cuts off. ive heard that is is a simple fix involving soldering something together maybe? a diagram would really be helpful here thanks guys.

Mine has done that in the past. Usually re-appears minutes later.

The cluster has a bad diode in it and the only way to fix it is to replace the cluster.

Pull out the gauge cluster from the dash, split the gauge package on the circut board you will find your od chip pull it and user some terminal cleaner (Radio Shack) re-insert. Or just get a new one
