JLT Ram Air Sucks?

Okay i just came over from another forum where there are mixed feelings and "proof" that jlt ram air intakes dont improve 1/4 mile time. Is that true? how much hp did you gain with this basic swap? i'd like to see what my 4v brothers have to say about this. 2v's feel free to give me your .02

personally aftermarket intakes to ' me ' dont add that much. maybe 7-8 hp... I think they are more or less big gainers on heavily modified vehicles. thats just my opinion.

also, another opinion being, intakes dont work that well with just itself. add a plenum and throttle body to really make a difference.

^ because it works

and black02GT is right.

no intake alone will give you a lot of power, but when adding parts.. you get more power... and believe me guys.. size counts. I don't care what the ladies tell ya

on a 4v.. more than you would with a 2v.

a 2v here picked up 12 rwhp by adding one. you should get more.

C&L Mass air system and inlet tube FTW. double digit gains. Couple that with say a twin 65mm TB 20-25 at the wheels on the Mach. I felt a differnce with just a port and polished TB. Sweet2kstang can vouch for that.

i did a jlt on a 98 cobra, not too much there. i run a c&l and love it. i have delt with the bbk, cheap ebay intakes, c&l, jlt, k&n, and s&b. i am partial to c&l now after the one i have done on mustangs, i also highly recommend the s&b. the k&n is a good system and the jlt is also. i personally think the jlt is highly over rated, but thats my opinion. there is power to be had with a cai, but dont expect a huge gain.

i have the anderson ford motorsport 4" powerpipe that goes through the fender to under the front bumper. I didn't notice a HUGE gain but I did notice a lil (maby it was in my head) but anyway it looks really cool under the hood.

thats a nice gain, but not huge. your not going to feel 10hp. you will notice a little difference, but not a lot.

that was me, but it was the CAI, not the RAI. but, if you ask some members on here (mixedbreed), i'm full of shit for saying that i gained that from a CAI...
as if i would lie about shit like that. if i'm gonna lie, it's not going to be about a little 12 hp gain. but yeah, the JLT is a great product...
