My Car Feels Slow

i know people get used to their cars and they seem slower after you own them for a while.

but i really think my car is getting a lot slower. i'll explain a few things and maybe you guys can help

my car used to be able to do second gear burnouts when i had my shitty falken tires. after a while, it wouldn't do them any more. it was just bog down. i did put eibach springs on it, could that make it not want to spin as easy? now, after putting 14,000 miles on it, it seems like it has no balls. i can stomp on the gas at 4000 rpms in 1'st gear and it wont spin the tires. it will chirp into second, but not spin. i have new tires, but still it doesn't seem like it has as much power as it used to. and when i step on it in second, it feels like it chokes a little bit and bogs. it seems to have a little bit of a miss or roughness in acceleration.

also, my transmission seems like it whines louder than usual when i get on the gas. and my clutch squeaks and shakes when i push down the pedal. its annoying as fuck.

anyways, does anyone know what might make my car lose power? i really hope i'm not losing compression.

yeah they dont. not loud anyways, but if you put your car in first gear when you're going 30 without letting out the clutch you will hear it whine.

How many miles? Might be time to do a compression check. Do you change the fuel filter regularly?

You could start there. Couple of dollars at the parts store and about 10 minutes of your time. just make sure you get the little removal rings

From one Chevy guy to another: Get in a mid 80's early 90's chevy with a ZF6 6 Speed and you will think it has a supercharger off a lightning.

Have you thought about doing fuel filter, plugs, wires, Induction service?

thanks i was thinking the fuel filter might be what the hold up is. i'm gonna change the fuel filter, plugs, flush the transmission fluid and replace it (which i did after i got the car) and see about getting a new air filter. or just put a CAI with a good K&N on it.

anyone know what a good clutch to replace it would be? i HATE the stock clutch, i've driven 4 or 5 99-04's and they all had stiff shaky clutches.

i'm thinking about going with the Spec Stage 1 clutch anyone know about that?

hows this for getting the seat of your pants feeling back, my license was suspended for thirty days, got it back on a thursday morning, my girl drove me to the middle of missouri to get it, i got to drive it back that was nice smile the whole way. that night, i wrecked the car, now im driving around a 4 door cavy. lol. so aside from one day of driving, i will have gone about 65 days without riding in a car with more than 150 hp, and on top of it everyone i ride with drives lame.!!
