What Is Excellent On Removing The Glue From Old Tint?


I want to remove my old tint from my windows but the old tint glue is har to remove? ANy suggestions?

once again, deatil experience here. we alwasy use a brand new razor scraper, and load it with windex, and either goo gone, ore even a bit of lacquer thinner will do the job, just dont get it on plastic..if your doing the back glass be careful around the defroster lines with the razor

Water and a razor blade works great. I'm sure windex works better though.

use kerosene or if you can find a industrial strength wax and grease remover that would be even better..

if you want it to come off quick trust me and use what i said.. i make signs for a living so i know first hand about getting glue off.. and goo gone sucks ass

Try this.... Use warm water & vinegar. This is an old trick from Tropical fish/aquarium stores when they had to remove background tints. It should come off in sheets with a little proding from a razor blade. I used this method on my 90 LX coupe and it worked great. Cover everything because it makes a mess as you have to use it generously.

a steam gun, but you dont really have everyday access to one of those
in any case, it peels right off with one of those babies

i was quoted 350 for retint of all my windows if I peel off the side windows and leave the back one for them to do. Is this reasonable?

mine cost $160 cdn to do the rear 3 and remove the tint, so double that for the rest, i dunno, average i guess
