depends upon what they tuned it for. did they bump the timing at all in the tune??
if they did, you could get detonation and that is bad for the engine. nasty things could happen

i'd just use a higher octane just to be safe, all i ever run in any car i have is 91(top in ca) because overall its better for the engine.

there's no need for a higher octane fuel unless your running boost or nitrous, etc... or if your timing is really advanced
i run 15* timing advance at 28psi on 108 octane

well mid grade is good for stock low grade os never good for a mustang or any car for that matter high test is what i would run if you have anything done but you dont need 108 aka race gas till you get a high psi sc or some nitrous i also reomend buying a octane booster 1ce a month i use nitro power you can buy it at pepboys it claims 25 hp added instantly i dont beleve it but you do feel something

What octane are you running right now? In any kind of performance v-8 I wouldn't use anything less than 91-93 (whatever is available in your area)

theres no need for it, but it is better for your engine. take any sort of engine class and you'll know this. octane is the resistance to burn, and you want the strongest, most acurate ignition on each stroke you can get(hence why its run when timing is advanced), low grade fuel will ignite easier and provides a weaker, less accurate ignition through the lower ignition point of the fuel. i'm not gonna go into great detail here as i'm very tired right now, but that should help someone understand.

what the hell are you saying??????????
I need to run high octane. if i run pump gas all im gonna be doing is having crazy detonation..... and the only way to fix that is to turn down the timing and boost and that will never happen higher octane makes the pistons go up and down the bores straighter when under high pressure

low otane= faster burn
high octane= slower burn Detonation= fast uncontrolled burn(multiple flame fronts colliding)

Preignition (detonation) can occur from higher combustion temperature that can be attributed to lower octane fuels.
