Upgrading the Alternator to a 200 Amp one is one of the best thinsg you can do but make sure you also upgrade the cable that goes from the alternator to the battery. Also going wiht a Optima Yellow or Bluetop is alos a good idea if you plan to play the stereo wiht the car not running. You may even want to consider a dual battery setup.

You can also use a capacitor to take some of the load off your charging system.

That is incorrect The Redtops are strictly starting batteries and if used for extended play time will end up draining the battery and killing ti prematurely. The Yellow and Blue tops are what is refereed to as a deep cycle battery and they can be repeatedly discharged and recharged without damaging them.

I myself use a blue top starting.deep cycle that they also make for the marine environment and it holds up even better. Plus it has threaded posts as well as the standard top mount posts for hooking up extra stuff.

Heres the one I use.

Capacitors are not the best way to go and can harm the alternator and your money would be better spent investing in a good battery like a Kinetic. And the alternator upgrade is a must for a high wattage sound system. You can damage your amps and speakers not to mention the alternator and battery if your voltage is dropping.

Never heard of that brand and it doesnt say what the amps output is only that it is 300% more than factory. Makes me a bit skeptical.

As for getting yourself a larger battery cable to the alternator many people use Stereo cable used for powering amps. I had a link to a place but cannot locate it right now. Let me do some searching and If I can find it I will post it.

Well that may be but the fact is the Redtop Batteries are intended to be strictly starting batteries and if you continuously discharge them and them recharge them you will shorten their lives. They are not deep cycle batteries which are designed to handle that type of repeated discharging and recharging.
