Ceramic or Chrome

ive been planning on buying bbk shorty headers for my 99 gt. would it really make much of a difference whether i got chrome or ceramic coated heades?

also would it just be worth it to get ceramic coated long tubes instead?

verymuchworth the extra money. the ceramic will cut down on alot of underhood heat that you will have. they are both going to fade over time though.but yeah ceramic is def worth the extramoney

Ceramic coated are much more expensive but are much better. They reduce the under hood heat by about 20 degrees which means a little cooler air. Plus they dont blue around the block or rust.

As far as shorties or long tubes goes, it depends on wether or not you're gonna lower the car. If you're not, def. go long tubes; but if you rare be careful because you may not have the clearance in which case you'll need to buy shorties. I know this from experience because i lowered mine as far as posibble and i dont have the clearance for long tubes.

I have my car lowered on H&R Supersports and I have not scratched my long tubes yet either. Go for ceramic coated. Chrome will not stay looking nice long and will not protect from heat like ceramic will.

the reason that i dont know whether to go with long tubes or not, is that i dont have the income to buy them both at once, plus i need something on my car soon so it is louder. ive got the american thunder cat back but its just not loud enough for me. in tacoma we have emissions testing so i have to get the catted x-pipe. with the cats will i still get the loudness.

for some reason it just seems that my exhaust is only really loud when it wants to be so i want to make it loud at all times
