Those do look a lot like the Nitto pattern.

I have the 555R on my daily driver and they work great in the rain. The trick is to not drive like a mad man (which you shouldn't be doing in the rain anyways). The snow is a different story though. We have had an unusual amount of snow in this area lately, and getting going from a dead stop can be tricky.

It's my understanding from reading a lot of DR threads, that the Nittos will have the longest life span of any of the DRs.

yeah, i have a set of those too, truely are awesome. you cant fly in the rain, but can drive if you need to.

tread wear sucks though.
