Tire Recommendations

Alright, so following up with this thread, I'm looking at buying new tires.

I have big rims so I need low-profile tires. Typically I always just look at DiscountTireDirect.com for new car tires because they're the cheapest place ever and have free shipping plus warranties on all of their tires. But...I thought I would ask here before buying off of that website, just to see if anyone has any recommendations they'd like to give me.

So, let's list some good car tires. I'll be looking into your suggestions too as I don't want to purchase any crap tires that have been recalled or have horrible safety/general ratings.

for a pre-05 mustang i hope you didnt put 20+ inch rims. I have 18'' chrome bullitts and i use the nitto 555. They're pricey but they have the best performance on the street, and at the track i can pull 2.05-2.1 60 foot times with my heavy ass rims.

I just love the way everyone recommends tires without knowing the driving conditions. You're in New Jersey, right? Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s and Nitto 555s are summer extreme performance tires. That type of tire landed me in a ditch last winter. They have no light snow or ice traction.

Is your car a daily driver? Do you have a winter beater or will you have to drive your car in light snow? ice? heavy snow? Can you afford more than one set of tires? A set for summer and a set for winter. You need to evaluate your driving conditions before you select a set of tires.
