the sparkplug has a pretty good bit of damage on the threads. im going to try and find a scope to get a good look at the threads. and some rubber from the boot fell in to the chamber so im probly going to end up being forced to take the head off, but thats something thats going to be a pain in the arse

this is guna sound funny but , you may be able to vacume it out ,,get avacume and some small hose tape the small hose to the vacume hose and then stick the small hose down into the chamber and wiggle it around a in all directions , maybe it will clean out the stuff that fell into the hole...

What kind of heads? Looks like the threads are no longer in the head. You will probably have to pull the head and helicoil it.

its happened to mee too. get a helicoil kit for it, and take your time. i fixed mine in car, just go slow and you will be ok. if you dont think this is something you can do, go to a machine shop or a good mechanic that is comfortable doing it in the car.

Wow! How did it happen? Is it on a stock motor? Was there any PTV contact or detonation?

yes i heard on the 2v 4.6's its a prob. it started off sounding like a belt. so i replaced the belt and pullies. well it would only do it when it warmed up so i traced it to the coil and it would stop if i moved the coil around. took it off and retourqed the plug. going down the road it sounded like a really bad exhaust leak. took the coil off and it was shreaded and the spark plug was beat and craped out.... so if you have a 2v 4.6... CHEAK YOUR PLUGS. and i dont feel skilled enoungh to acctually fix the threads. i can get the head off but the machine shop boys will be getting a visit. ill do a big pic show when im done, but its 4 DEG here to day and i dont have a garage(stupid army housing) so it will be this weekend
