I believe that the 01 z28 is also a Ls1
if it were an Lt1 motor it would be a much closer race.

I can beat my buddies 02 TA in the 1/8th mile.....only cause he cant hook up but hey a win is a win. On the street its not even close all he has is lt headers and a short shifter and he destroys me after second gear.

your going to get beat pretty bad, especially if he's auto.

some sticky tires, full bolt on's, and the driver mod like CRAZY and you may have a chance.

yeah you dont stand a chance unless you get lucky i got almost full bolt ons minus gears & x-pipe and my buddies ss always beats me

well if you take a look at my ' trans am down' thread. i didnt beat that guy by much. same engine in the trans am as the camaro. but the one i raced was a lt1. your talkin about racing a faster car ( ls1) ( 98-02 = ls1 93-97 = lt1 on fbodys) than i did, and i didnt beat the slower one by much at all.

They are fast but it's not as hard as everybody makes it seem to run with them. Full exhaust, 4.10's, CAI, and a good driver should get you pretty close. Throttle body an plenum may be necessary.

MOST LS1 cars you will see at the track will be running mid 13's. Low 13's with exhaust. It is doable without juice.

EDIT: You will also need a shifter. But that's a given.

Right now if you get a good launch you can beat him in the 1/8th. With some 4.10's and about two more bolt-ons I wouldn't be surprised if you took him every time in the 1/8th.
