People choose Mustangs for different reasons.

Take me for instance. I bought a Mustang because I got a good deal on it. It was on average $4,000 cheaper than an LS1, while all LS1 cars I looked at had at least twice the mileage. It was a no-brainer. For me, I would take an F-body over a Mustang any day. Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying my Mustang, but have now owned both and can form a completely un-biased opinion.

The only thing the Mustang really has going for it is the rear-end. Not that it's all that great either, but if I were to put 4.10's in my LS1, I would hardly leave the driveway before it shatters into a million pieces.(exagerated, I know)

I think the more time you spend in this world of cars, the more you will find that most Camaro owners don't think of Mustang owners as enemies but more like allies. I can't say the same YET of the Mustang owners I have met on here, but I haven't been around long enough to really judge. Sorry for the lengthy reading. Im bored.

When I was doing all the looking for my car I found a 97 camaro in fuquay for 15 grand. it had some apperance mods and exhaust I think that's about it. Not sure if the guy sold it or not I see it all the time in front of harris-teeter. I have all the respect for f body's but I've always been a fan of mustangs. My dad has a 68 daily driver and we have a 66 on blocks waiting to be restored.

I was looking at the pics in the article and like they said the f body interior looks like cheap garbage. Both cars are sweet but I have and always will be a ford fan.

So they liked it so much more because it had better seats, interior, and visibility?....Sounds like they need to stick to SUVs and family sedans, and leave the muscle cars to enthusiasts. I bought my car because I wanted to go fast, not because I thought the seats were pretty.

There is no greater sound to me than a mustang slow yes but sumtimes speed isnt everything.

Too me, it doesnt matter really anymore which car is faster. Were all american muscle cars ya know? So what if they're faster off the showroom floor. Mustangs along with the Camaros have reputations burned into history for being nice, sleek, fast, and loud cars. Basically choosing between the 2 comes down to the person and what they want in a car. Each car has its flaws and eah cars has its achievments.

I chose mine because every f-body I looked at either had 90,000+ miles on it, didnt have a 6 speed, or was $18,000 for one with 55,000 miles on it. I bought my GT Premium for $11,000 with 51,000 miles on it. Money is basically what it comes down to. Apparently a Camaro can hold its value a little longer than a Mustang.

Just for a little add... ill take the exhaust tone of a Mustang ANYDAY over a Camaro. Its just too unique. You can tell its a Mustang as soon as you hear it coming down the road

well.... camaros are just easier and cheaper to mod... but for some reason i keep buying mustangs.. lol. i dont feel like camaros are the enemy, but it feels better to beat a camaro than another mustang because that just proves to more people that mustangs are not out of the muscle car race!

I like both cars and have owned camaro's (no LT or LS ones, just iroc-z) back in high school but wasn't a fan of the 93+ ones. I like how they look but just didn't feel comfortable inside one.I love my mustang because I think its comfortable, fun to drive, looks and sounds awesome.I didn't buy it just to race since the nearest track is over 2 hours away. The only reason I even took it to a track was to shut up a neighbor who kept on telling me mustangs were slow and his ratted out, beat down, antique (and riced out) eclipse would smoke me.After hearing him get so excited about how he has a 14 sec car (not kidding) I went with him and shut him up(that was with the old motor with heads/cams).When I want to feel unbelievable power and speed for real good dollar to power ratio I take one of my bikes.I am undefeated on both of them and don't think theres many streetable cars that would stand a chance.

Then there's the fact that you can make a Mustang fast, but you can't make a Camaro look good...

GM had their collective styling head's stuck up their backsides for most of the 80's and 90's--and the interiors started out ugly and got worse as the rinky-dink controls self-destructed and the dash panels fell apart. And don't get me going about the headliners...

Good read.

Personally I love the Camaro. I want Chevy to bring it back badly, and when they do I hope they don't kill it again after three years (regardless of the BS CAFE law). The more American pony and muscle cars around the better, in my opinion. The Camaro is pure Americana, and I would take one in a heartbeat. I know I've probably mentioned it before, but I always said my dream car is a 69 Camaro.

I never even thought of Camaro as the "enemy". I look at it as a way for Ford to look at what they might do better, and when the new Camaro arrives, we are sure to see the 2010 Mustang offered with nearly 400hp.

I can't wait!
