Mach 1 hood and gt scoop

I was just looking at a mach 1 and compared to a gt it looks like it has more of a raise to it. and i like the scoop of the gt...never compared the two but i think the gt scoop to the shaker part of the mach is bigger. So would taking a mach 1 hood and putting a gt scoop on it instead of having that shaker work?

The Mach hood has more of a slope to it than the GT. I would think it would take some custom fabbing to get it to work.

why not just fabricate a gt hood to work with the mach 1 shaker system under it? seams like it'd be alot easier that way...

I like the mach hood with the mach shaker. It would cost a lot of money to put a non functional scoop on a different hood,if you are going to spend the cash why not get the extra couple HP.

i really dont think adding a shaker will give you any positive gains except keep an engine cool getting a compliment or 2

i've heard if you remove the black grill from infront of the GT hood scoop the scoop can be ripped off the car at fast speeds. the bolts that hold it are plastic i think, so i can see it happening at 100+ mph.

err so trying to turn it into ram air could do the same thing, granted it wont be a complete air dam but the engine only takes so much, the rest is just gonna be pressur eon some plastic bolts.

yea i can see that happening to...my hood looks like its going to fly open at 100+ so that little plastic thing would probably fall off for sure
