Can't start my baby!

ok so i got off work at 3:30 and decided to come home and take the mustang and gas it up (i drive the shadow to work, but i planned on driving the mustang this morning) and i unlock the door get in and put the key in and cannot turn the key.. it's like the key's not even in there.. now it turned fine yesterday morning and it came out fine when i got home, but now i can't turn it.. not even to acc or anything. i tried messing with the steering wheel thinking it might be the lock thing to no avail.

Please don't tell me the apparent truth that it's the ignition cylinder.. please..

Do you have another key? Might try that if you got it. Pull it out a little maybe. Is your key realy worn?

yeah i wiggled the mess out of it and it still won't go...

I just wonder if the cold weather we got could've frozen one of the pins in place and it's not letting the tumbler turn... dunno...

I'm calling freedom ford today cause they sell the cylinder at advance auto, but you have to have a special coder for the anti theft system... ugh!! mo money!!

Sometimes I wish I was one of those kids who didn't pay for anything.. ya know no full time job and financial responsibility... lol

I had the same thing happen to my car a few years ago. Got in and the key would not turn (like it was the wrong key). I tried my spare and that did not work either. I was very forceful and pissed off but i could not get it to turn. The dealer towed the car and had to drill out the lock because it cannot be removed unless the key is turned to on. They said it was a PITA, but at least it was free!

The cold can play some nasty tricks to a car. How many keys/other things do you have on your key chain? I've been told my a GM tech that it isn't smart to have more than what you absolutely need on your keychain because it can bend the slot you put the key into.
