Race fuel in with stock fuel delevery systems
Just wondering if anyone has ran into a problem with running race fuel (110+ oct.) in the stock fuel delivery system? I know in some of the older cars it could eat up some of the rubber stuff in the motor. Is it safe on the injectors, regs, sensors or any other place that small o-rings and seals are? If anyone has any input it would be helpful, Ford wouldn't give me a strait answer if it would hurt anything. They gave me a line of "running fuel like that is hard on the motor." I know that what i was going to do was going to cause wear but is it going to hurt physically damage the motor from the fuel its self.

If your car still has a stock delivery system than you do not have the need to run 110+, or 101+ for that matter. If you were running real high compression, gobs of boost or lots of nitrous you might need that kind of octane. Remember the higher octane rating does not give a bigger boom, it just means that the fuel will resist detonation (pre-ignition) better.

If its leaded it will ruin your O2 sensors very quickly. Remember if you run higher octane than needed (and tuned for) you will loose hp and mpg. If you are NA you must be around 12:1 to need anything close to 110+.
