Steering rack blew up........

Son of a bitch..... I was about to leave work and started to pull my car out of my bay when the power steering pump started screaming. I popped the hood and checked the reservoir. It looked a little low. So I start dumping fluid in. A quart and a half later it was full.

I was like WTF, I just had the car on the lift and didn't see the first leak. So I jacked the car up a little to look underneath and I see the vent hose to the dust boots on the rack seeping. I squeezed one of the boots and the damn thing is filled up like a balloon.

So thankfully it busted at work. Hopefully I can find a new rack tomorrow or I'm screwed.

how much does a rack cost? mine leaks a little. not enough to drip but its enough to see on the boots if you look under the car.

The only price I have found so far is $200 from Advance rebuilt. But I'd prefer to stay away from that.

Yeah I have one but I like the powersteering.....

Its should still be covered under the three month warrenty that was offered on it when I bought it from my work.... If so its getting a brand new one from ford.

Cars already back together.....

Just waiting for a buddy of mine to come over and help me get it off the alingment rack..... there isn't alot of ground clearance.
