what would need to be done to a stock block to make this work??

Not sure exactly what your question is, but in doing a rebuild I'd have the cylinder dimentions checked and, regardless, hone the cylinders to promote good ring seal. I'd have the head decked to ensure proper alignment and sealing with the heads. Who are you buying this stuff from? What do they recommend?

would 30 over be a good idea, this is the only time i plan on rebuilding this motor, next time it will be new
