Can you help, test drove a car and what could this be?

I test drove a 2000 GT and when in neutrual and the car idling if I punched the gas the engine would seem to hesitate and then the rpms would jump up. The k&N filter looked like it could be cleaned but I am wondering what could have caused this. Thanks in advance

Regardless it shouldn't be anything too big or expensive. Use that to get the seller to come down on the price. It should be an easy fix. It might be as easy as running a can of Seafoam.

No man as long as the price is right...everything that the guys above have listed are easy fixes but like neckbone said use it to get the seller to lower the price, what mods have been done to the car other than the k&n?

Well as long as they arent asking a whole lot for the car im with everyone else. Use it as a reason for them to lower the price and bu the car.
