shorty headers arent even worth the pain it is to install them if you ask me.

if you got a good deal on them, sell them make some $$, and get some longtubes.

on the passanger side, if you take the wheel off it helps you get to the back bottom stud, but wd40 the shit out of them the night before, and get you som swivle head attatchments and some extensions, it also helps if you jack the motor up a little, religion helps to, and some padded gloves FTW

headers

best hint or tip is just if you get mad and get really pissed off, go do something for half a hour or an hour and come back, besides that use the wheel idea, and def def def use wd40 or PB blaster to make sure the bolts are rusted because they can snap otherwise

ok here we go (this is for a 2002 GT)
(this is for the driver side)
wd 40 the shit out of them (leave over night) if not you break the stud and ur screwed.
i use a couple of 3/8 extinsion, a 3/8 swivle and a 13mm socket with the groves that grab
the nut, go in and lock your stering wheel. then disconnect the sterring shaft from the
steering gear, dont let the steering wheel move, remove the EGR pipe from the manifold and
remove the 8 nuts, it helps if you remove the big nut that holds the motor to the motor
mounts, put a block of wood on the oil pan and jack the motor up till you get enough room.
the brake master cylinder almost broke my hand so watch out its the devil. taking the wheel
off helps there are all kinds of holes and stuff that you can acces the nuts from. when you
get the manifold off it drops down, its easier that pulling up through the engine bay, the
pass side is about the same, once you get the driver side off youll know how to do it.
clean the studs coming from the motor, clean the gasket sealing area, use new hardware,
and gaskets and then put you new headers on, i lubed up the studs with a samll amount of
wd40 when i put them on. after you get them on put every thing back together and start
your car make sure no leaks, and you should be good, and remember the motor mounts. i
forgot those when i done it

so 3/8 extinons (long ones)
13mm stripped nut sockets
3/8 drive
3/8 swivle
wd40
a friend
the motor mounts i broke loose with a 19mm socket and a breaker bar
a bible

I just did mine and your gonna hate it, I put the shorty's on and x pipe at the same time and i can feel a difference but the install sucks sooo much, I would definately recomend dropping the k-member, I didnt and it sucked! It will save you time in the long run, trust me i spent 3 days on my back it was not fun, and you have to lift the engine up to to fit the headers in, you have to move the steering shaft on the driver side which is easy to do, you will have to have a swivel head for your ratchet, plenty of sockets, wrenches, extensions. Is it a DD?

as RC said, so much easier to jsut drop the K member.

and liek i said, if your going to go through the bitch of doing headers, you REALLY should do longtubes. you probably talking about 3X the power gains if not more.

Yes all that work it will take your going to want to be satisfied, but if you need to pass emissions like I do I think LT's will give you trouble and you dont want to go through that install, I will guarantee you cant wait till its over. Buy percys seal4good dead soft aluminum gaskets, and ford racing stage 8 locking bolts, they will both run about $80 or so but WELL WORTH IT, you dont want to keep tightening bolts and have a gasket blowout, im so glad I bought them.
