Car doesn't run well when cold.

I've noticed that my car does not run well when it is cold. (morning, or cold day) and was wondering if these cars are just cold natured. It runs fine, but when I give it gas, it may hesitate a bit. It doesn't pick up speed like it does when it warms up. Normal??

cold

nope thats not normal, i have a 03 mach and it wont hesitate at all, just check your plugs and wires, it should start up and be able to go right away without hesitating, you might not get full power when you just start up and go but you shouldnt get any major hesitation or stuttering, as long as it only seems a little slower or if when you hit the pedal it takes like a second to kick in is normal to as long as its not serious hesiation

No, it's nothing serious at all, It just takes it maybe 5 min to warm up and start running normal. There is no rough idle or obvious hesitation, but I can tell a difference.

I do run 93. Usually Chevron though. I don't think it would really differ.

I'm not an expert on this, but from everything I have heard you should never floor or "step on it" until you have allowed your engine time to properly warm up. And yes, if you do it should be much slower as the engine has not warmed up yet.

Sounds normal to me. My car is not a big fan of the cold weather. It hesitates a little at the first few stop signs, but after it gets warm it's fine. I just switched my tune back to the 87 octane tune for the winter due to ridiculous gas prices and it had no effect

hmm, i think mine is noticeably faster in when it is cold out. I get thrown in my seat a little bit more when it is cold out rather then when it is warm out. Also mine has no hesitation when i get on it. Soo IMO i think you got yourself a problem.

You are telling me that you come out in the morning, start your car and drive away 20-30 secxonds later and your car runs just as well as it does when it's warm? Is your car garage kept? He's not talking about once the car is warmed up and been driven like 5 minutes. He's talking about first thing in the morning even if you let it defrost for a few minutes. At least that is what I'm talking about. LOL

Yes.

Naturally cars do run better in cold weather, but I'm talking about when the engine is cold.

On my Camaro, my best E/T's were when I let it sit for a few hours, pushed it through the lines and ran it. It did not run better when hot.

Yeah, when my engine is cold it feels like it lost 2 pistons. After about 2 minutes it runs fine though. I considered normal now.

Thats how it should be. I know you are not supposed to beat on your car when its cold, but mine feels like it has another 50hp on a quick stab on a cold day after about 1-2 min of warm up. If you car stumbles or is hard to start when cold, and you have a custom tune, then call up your dealer and tell him to fix it.
