SLP's
Anyone know how the power gains of SLP's are? They sound pretty nasty imo, but i was just wondering if anyone knew.

Ok, lol i guess it's just that there so much louder... i just swapped my Steeda's out for a pair today and i love the way they sound but it felt like it may have lost a little but it's probably just that it's so much louder your mind gets to playing tricks on you.

The majority of HP gains from exhaust come from a change in the headers and the mid pipe, not the exhaust. SLPs are a straight through exhaust so they will see more gains than most exhaust that are not straight through. The more HP your car makes the more gains you will see from a well flowing exhaust. Personally I prefer Magnapacks or Borla Stingers but if you go with SLPs make sure you get SLP LM 2, not 1s. SLP LM 1s sound like sh*t.

They're a straight through muffler, so you did infact lose a very small amount of low end TQ, but u'll gain it back in the 3800+rpm range

that's true. So now get some 4.10 gears to make up for it.

Got 3.73's and love em... much better than stock. And I've heard them both and they don't sound that much different to me.

SLP LM 1s have no tone. They are just loud. When you hit the gas it's just noise. SLP LM 2s have tone. They have a grumble to them. I've heard both too and at WOT they do not sound the same at all.

If you want SLP sound for cheap, go to an exhaust shop and have them bend u pipes and put them on after the midpipe w/o mufflers... same sound basically

Oh ok, well I personally don't think the LM1's sound bad but it's just opinion. Think the 2's are supposed to be a little throatier.

oh okay, thanks guys. I'm getting a good deal on these mufflers, so its not a big deal to me, maybe later on ill upgrade to a full catback. How much do you think a muffler shop would charge to cut off my old mufflers and weld on the new ones?

Yeah... its all your own opinion. Some people like the sound of a stang with no mufflers. A LM2 is actually chambered, and a LM1 is just a resonator (a tube thats wider than the pipe to amplify).

for the price of exhaust you really shouldnt be buying it for HP gains..because for over $1000 you barely get 20 hp.
