Cold Start Noise

Its been 60 degrees out here for the past two days but there were some extremely cold nights out here in the past weeks...When I start the car and let it warm there is kind of a sporadic whistling sound coming from behind the front left fender. It slowely gets quieter and then goes away as the car warms and then gets driven a few miles...I had a 96 GT that had this happen in the cold weather also, it was right before I had to have the clutch replaced which sounds almost like where the sound is coming from BUT, my clutch, even for 116,000 miles is still working great with the occasional stiffening from heavy use.
