im not thinking too much boost. the internals arent forged like the 03-04 cobras are. id probably say only 9 psi

welcome to the site.

great platform with the 4V. Limit of the engine as it sits would be around 450HP due to the bottom end not being forged.

Instead of doing on the bolt ons you could forge the internals and put alot of boost to it. or you can do all the bolt ons and Have a nice tune made, and make alot of n/a power.

with bolt on's, up to 320RWHP with ported intake up to 340, but probably closer to 330.

with a ported heads, and cam package you could approatch the 400RWHP mark.

the cars dont like boost that much, people do it, but people also blwo them pretty often too.

heads cams, full bolt on's, and a shot is what i would do.

in 100% stock form with good tires, and track prep, and of course a great driver it coyuld go as low as a 13.6 or so. but that would probably take slicks, launching that hard on DR's would probably snap a halfshaft.

you're talking about an 01 cobra? i've seen a stock GT with slicks run a 13.6.

and you would be much better off with an 01 cobra as opposed to an 03-04 GT. there werent any differences made with the GT's between 01-04, and the 4v responds much better to mods than the 2v.

i dont see a stock GT running 13.6's with just slicks. and the cobra does have a little added weight for the IRS. but makes up some of it back with the alluminum block, but then the 4V heads are heavier too.

all in all the cobra has more power, but probably a extra 200LBS.

they run hgih 13's typically with a good driver on street tires, as low and mid 13's with a great driver, and slicks, and up to 15's with a bad driver.

its pretty unheard of, theres one on the procharger website. a pro driver with a gt running a 13.66 or something like that. i thought the 01 cobras and the mach 1's ran about the same? machs are capable of a 13.2 arent they?

i know a lot of people put braces on them. they really aren't that bad strength wise, but for drag racing they dont get very good traction.
