JLT CAI Installed.

I recieved my JLT intake yesterday and immediately began to install it. The project was very simple, a toddler could do it, I had it on in a little less than an hour. I dont really notice too much of a difference besides gas mileage, My old filter was completely filthy. It seems to pull a little bit harder in the higher RPM's, but not really noticeable.

I give the product an 8 out of 10. Mainly because Im going to have to pull it back out to re-seal the MAF. It says you do not need a gasket but you definatley do. Silicon will work, I just didn't have any where I was. Finished product looks good.

theres no reason to seal the MAF. the way the engine sucks the air in it wouldnt make a difference, there wont hardly be any un metered air get in there.

dont you love how you jsut give it a little bit of throttle, and you hear a sort of sucking sound? i love it.

Do what? Even the slightest bit of unmetered air will cause a computer to go nuts...... Trust me I had a customers car doing this to me last night. Bogging when starting from a dead stop and throwing codes for the tps.
But I should ask what exactly are you trying to seal? You shouldn't have any leaks.

he almost has to be talking about the MAF the the MAF adaptor seal. its very tight and if anything did leak by it would be so very minor the computer would neve know.

If I remember correctly... I may be wrong but that seal is on the filter side of the MAF.... If so it doesn't matter if it leaks there....

This seal correct?

Im talking about where the MAF connects to the adapter plate. It's not a small gap, I can see through it. Probably 1/32" gap.

Well I'm glad it was easy for you. It was a pain in the ass for me. It took me like 2 hours to get that thing in correctly. Then again I kept making stupid mistakes. I guess I'll have to chalk one up for the toddler.
