its a LT1 auto, its probably a dog. from a stop he will have the advantage, but from a roll if you can drive you may take him.

i beleave he weighs a touch more, and has more drivetrain loss.

Don't forget that the camaro is a 14 year old car, depending on how much abuse it has taken over the years and the miles you will do better than you think.

I was actually thinking the Mustang would have the advantage from a stop. I mean as long as he has good tires and can launch OK. He'll still probably lose, but not by a whole lot. I've never lost to one of those cars, but I have no idea what mods they had, if any.

unless there's a significant power difference, a auto car will always have the advantage from the stop, you simply put your foot down, and let the tranny do all the work. in a 5 speed car with equal power you would have to worry about more tire spin than the auto, and also hitting 1-2 shift which is possibly the hardest. not to mention a auto even if he did spin he could keep his foot planted, and keep 100% attention on keeping the car strait.

those cars can be pretty quick, but exhaust, and intake arent going to make them pretty quick, they need a cam, and heads. if it was a heads/cam car he would get shit on, no doubt. but a exhaust and intake only car isnt going to gain much power, and its also a auto, and a 14 year old auto that is probably going to have a 20-40% drivetrain loss.

not to mention, a LT1 isnt much compared to the LS1. if it was a LS1, he would be in trouble, but i dont think he has much to worry about being its an auto.
