Short throw

How hard is it to install a short throw shifter?? I have an 03 Cobra if it makes any difference. I was thinking of going with a Hurst shifter....but I heard MGW is good also. Any thoughts??

its very easy, takes about 15-30 mins. jsu tmake sure you remove the shift stops from the shifter, you can do damage to your T56.

ive tried just about every shifter for the T56, and the MGW is alot nicer.

MGW > everything else.

the MGW has 2 little screws on it you jsut gotta unscrew and take out, the T56 has internal shift stops, so if you use those you could do damage.

shift stops "stop " your shifts so you don't over shift and bend an internal shift fork.
you don't need the shift stops that come with the MGW because your transmission has them built in already

dont really need to explain it to him just that he needs to remove them.

shift stops prevent the shifter from traveling too far, or not far enough, theres simply a screw on the rear, and front of the MGW shifter than prevents it from going too far into get, or not far enough.

the T3650, and the T56 both have internal shift stops though, and you dont have to worry about it. the T5, T45, TKO500, and 600 dont, so you need to properly set the stops.

Good stuff...So that should make it a little easier to install then. I'm going to order one right now.
