Heres a question to everyone else, did anyone here buy their Mustang for its fuel economy?

depending on how many miles you got, a general tuneup may help some. and tranny service, rearend service, programmers can help, intake and exhaust like these guys said.

honestly i sort of did. considering the power it makes, and all, it gets great fuel mileage.

i have over 600 horses to the tire, and can get 25MPG on the highway, and around 18-21 in the city.

exhaust, UDP's, and intake will all improve fuel mileage some, but not a whole lot.

well since its stock you should be running 87 octane through it, that cuts down about $5 on each fill up from 93. and they really dont get that bad of fuel mileage. a auto will be worse than a 5 speed, but other than that, its pretty damn decent considering its a 250HP american car

well first off run 87 through it, its made to run 87. running 93 wont gain performance, and cost more $$.

if your driving in the city alot, gears will actually help your mileage. get a set of 4.10's, and call it a day.

How far do you travel... I ussually travel a average of 4 miles in heavy traffic (10 minutes to cross 2 miles) and I put 20 bucks each week... I use 87 octane though.

no, you wont shift that much more, its not big deal.

gas weighs a little over 8lbs per gallon so a 14.5 gallon tank filled up would weigh around 120LBS. its a general rule that every 100 lbs you add adds .1 to your 1/4 time. so a half tank weighing about 60 lbs, you would really notice no difference between 60, and 120.
