What is it with 3rd gear?

I hear all the time that everyone's 3rd gear synchro is going bad... why is it always 95% 3rd? is it becuase when racing, we miss it sometimes?

It hasnt happened to me (just hit 18k on the odo) but when it does... how much is it to usually repair a damaged synchro?

actually... shit, my 2nd is kinda messed up too... only when its cold though, for like the first 3 shifts after a cold startup though, it almost feels like it wants to push it back out when i'm shifting into 2nd... is that the synchro?

pretty expensive seeing as how they have to take the whole transmission apart anyway.
my 5th always grinds when its cold because i usually have to put it into first and then to 5th to get into reverse. fucking t45's

well mine was like 1200 for a full rebuild and a gear install so probably like 900 or so. depending on where you go.

HOLY SHIT!

With a repair at 900, its not worth it with the t45... i'd just get a t56 or tko600 and be happier with the purchase

mines a tremec 3650...honestly if i had the money i would have done a t56 swap and been happy and not broken the stupid thing again. I`m saving up now for that instead of fixing it again.
