31 spline

alright so this is going to sound dumb but i have no knowledge on the rear end of our cars. so what exactly does a 31 spline or w/e do? what is the difference vs stock on our cars? thanks guys

a 31 spline refers to the number of splines(grooves) on the end of your axle shaft, for example a 31 spline is stronger than a 28. i have no idea what w/e means

they are a lot stronger, its the only way to go if your planning high rom drag launches with slicks or drs. youll also have to replace the differential when you put in the bigger axles

love your sig ^^^ reminds me of this kid that had a 400HP eclipse that was a stock GS when he bought it, and a week later he had it put in the garage and brought to about 400HP, his parents bought the car and payed for the mods lol takes the fun out of it

as others said stock is 28 spline. the 31 splines vs. 28 gives more surface area to bite on in the same size diameter axle, plus the 31 spline is a little bit bigger, and uses a stronger grade steel aswell.

to do a 31 spline conversion for higher power, or launching alot you need a new diff, and the new axles. be sure if you do get the 31 splien setup you get the ABS rings pressed onto your axles so you can use the ABS system, and wont flash a light, in many states a ABS light wont pass safety inspection.

also for a diff you can get a 01/03/04 cobra diff, they are 31 spline, you can get them for $200-300 and are a great diff.
