What do you guys think about this axle? Is it good, price and strength wise?..and how hard is it to install?

Moser is def. a good brand.

as far as install... it's not too hard.
make sure you get a 31spline diff with that as you can't use your stock 28 spline one.

while you do 31 spline axles...might as well reseal the axle...both ends of the tube and cover gasket. pinion seal if you really feel like it. so that you dont have to go back and do it again at alater date....regardless its easy to reseal and easy to swap axles. all one needs is the drive , tools, and parts.

steps to do the install
pull wheels, pull brakes, pull diff cover, pull pin from the diff, push axles in some (one at a time) and remove c clip. then do same for other axle. pull axles out. unbolt diff caps. keep caps separate and on each side they came from and in direction they came off (dont want to mix them up--not on chevys anyway). pull out/gently pry out diff assembly (dont drop it). unbolt diff from ring gear (possible left hand threads--chevy is) use brass drift or something soft to gently tap ring gear off if stuck on (dont use anything that could damage/deform the ring gear). swap on new parts. make sure you get an install kit for the rear becuase it will most likely need shimmed. some reuse shims and such, but i dont. i've been taught not to and have held to that (we toss out cast spacers/shims and install steel ones). i dont know backlash/preload needed for fords. very simple to do...just giving detailed steps, bc you ask difficulty of install. you'd be looking at about 3hours probably for someone else to do it (dealer charge etc.--not how long it takes--it takes like 1.0-1.5 hours).

If you are not going crazy with power and beating it with slicks all the time, you could just look into moser 28 spline alloy axles.

that would work too...

you wouldnt even have to pull the diff out/unbolt diff end caps. it be pull axles & put in new ones.

i did 31's with c clips... the c clips were a lil excessive and they made it a pain. but the 31's are strong and it shouldnt be too hard something you can do with some basic mechanical knowledge

Look at Summit and MoserEngineering. They are cheaper than the price AM says they go for, but you won't get free shipping. Ask AM if they can get 28 spline axles. By no means not trying to talk you out of 31 splines but giving you options if you are just looking for a stronger axle than stock.

This wouldnt effect anything with the diff. right? Doesnt seem like a bad idea to upgrade may have to wait awhile to save money for a install but seems worth it never know right.
