shorties wont really gain you much, maybe 5-10 rwhp depending on your mods. not worth the hassle if you ask me

for the amount of trouble it is to install headers, you may as well go with the long tubes and actually get some gains. all that work for 5- 10 hp just isn't worth it to me...

Your best bet would be to sell your current mid-pipe and get longtubes with a matching midpipe.

If your short on cash get
MAC Long Tube Headers

If you have money to spend get
BBK
Kooks
Hookers

Places to look at for good deals

Lethal Performance
Stage3motorsports

Best deals on headers I have ever seen.

Long tubes do give a noticable gain I noticed my car was a tad quicker and rev'd up faster, I have 3.73 gears and when I launch in 1st I only have like a split sec and have to get into 2nd.

I have a book on the mustang 4.6L motor from 2v-4v and 5.0L

Best bang for the buck is LT 15-25hp 7-15 ft/lbs torque it showed on multiple dynos but not ever motor is the same.
Shorties showed anywhere from 1-7hp gain if that 1-3 ft/lbs torque
