04 mach 1 tranny fluid

i'm gonna change my tranny fluid what kind should i go with and how much and should i put any additives

either AMSOIL ATF, or GM Synchromesh.

Or Royal Purple SynchroMax, 3.0L (3.2 qts.) per Ford TSB 04-15-6.

The lesser amount of fluid (vs. the 4.0 and 3.8 qt. original specs) reduces the tendency of the shift rods and detents to hydrolock, and improves overall shifting characteristics...

+1, I used the Purple in the trans and rearend. Works great.

Hey CLIFFYK, I see your avatar has the orange handle MGW shifter. I have the same shifter and always thought it was a shame to cover it up with the boot too..

I like it but it seems to be polarising and too aggressive a look for some--kinda' like Hillary, people either love it or hate it with not much emotion in between...
