Just Ordered The Gears On Summit!


hey guys i just ordered my 4.10 richmond gears from summit!!! if shipping goes my way i'll have em in by thursday!!! i can wait i'll let yall know how it goes!

your acceleration will be quicker. thats what gears do. youll feel like you have more hp but its just a higher gear.
basically your acceleration will increase and gas milage decrease a little

well for one, your 14.9 should be a 13.9. but yeah it should drop it pretty good. it all depends on how your driving is and if you can hook up off the launch

haha that is a very good good point. well put. i know my car should run high 13's low 14's but i just dont know what i'm doing wrong...i mean at the track every weekend these guys with mustangs like mine are hitting 14.50's. i know that it depends on the driver but...shit! i cant figure it out i guess.

your tune will help also. but ya you should be in the 13.5.s what elavation you at anyway? better tires and practicing your launch will help

i'm at 0 sea level. and i'm running nitto extreme drag radials. your right though i do need to practice. well i'm gonna hit the track this friday cuz the gears should be installed by then. i'll get a video of it and try to post it!

imho gears are the best bang for the buck. im sure you will enjoy them. i remember when i put my 3:73 gears in. i was like "holy s%@*" i can imaging what 4:10 gears will fell like after 3:27 gears.

How well is the track maintained? Do they put VHT (the sticky stuff down)? You should easily be able to pull some 2.0 60' times with drag radials. Most will do much better than that but a 2.0 is good for a track Noob. What track is this at? The local track we race at is at 1054 feet. Last week when we raced the density adjustment was 2182.

So I have what seems like a noobish question. Why are the 4.10's so popular, i mean is too much 'leverage' a bad thing? which is why not many people go with 4.30's or whatever?
