I will not do that kind of work myself. I know my limits! Dont have the tools required, and i wont begin learning on a 10 grand motor!
Sucks the only shop that i really trust is the dealership... and they will charge more than a shop would. Have taken the car for simple things at 3 different places and have not been impressed. The master tech that worked on my car looked like he knew his shit though. |

I think there is actually a speed shop like 40 miles away. Might give them a call. Heard they specialize in mustangs, vettes. Would the heads have to come out to replace the ring? Should i do them all at once kind of thing? And if heads come out maybe some p&p

Should i do all the rings? Or can they just check to see if they are fine type of thing? If heads are coming off im going to shell out the few extra bucks to get them port and polished. Since half the cost is the labor of getting them in and out this would be the time to do it...

You can do a leak down and determine if any of the other rings are bad too.

Ok getting the car in next sat... He gave me the low down on what happened to vt, and said that my motor was probably built by another shop. Which is where all the reported failures came from.
