My hood scoop is currently loose from one side and when I go about 60 it starts lifting from one side and I know it's missing some kid of bolt on or screw so does anyone know the size of it or where I can purchase the hardware itself not the whole scoop
Just pull out one of the bolts that's still in it and go to a hardware store or parts store, they can tell you what size it is and probably get you what you need.
You could also use some thread locker if you're worried about it happening again.
The bolts are very small, but somewhat long. They're a specialty bolt though. They have clips attached to the tops to clip onto the tabs on the scoop. That being said, it's not common for the bolts to come loosed. What is common, however, is for the tabs to separate from the scoop at the either of the front corners. IMO, you should take a closer look at your scoop and verify what the actual issue is. The PO of my car put a scoop on it and I originally thought my bolt had come loose, only to discover the scoop was separating.
I've heard of people using various different adhesives or epoxies to fix the scoop but I hear/read that those typically don't last long . I took the advice of a body shop, and I used fiberglass repair sheets on the inside and haven't had issues with it since.
I went to a body shot and they'd charge me 35 to glue it or I can buy the 3m tape and tape it on and the problem is that it broke from the side of the scoop the latch so I have to buy the whole part which is 220 already painted and I don't got that money at the moment
Where it typically separates, tape wont solve your issue. The part that attaches to the hood typically separates from the scoop. The separation point is at the crease or angle. No double-sided tape is going to fix that. You need some type of bonding agent or you can use fiberglass sheets like i did. The tape is just going to hold down the part that's already being held down by the bolt(s). The part that is lifting up is still going to lift up because you havent solved the separation issue. Take the hood liner off and unbolt the scoop and you'll see what I'm talking about.
