Question On Camshafts...

I am looking at getting a pair of cams for my 2003 GT. I have looked at both the Competition cams and the Crower cams. Crower appears to sell the biggest lift and duration on their cams. Has anyone used either of these brands of camshafts and, if so, what lift and duration?
BTW- I am looking to gain some top end power, and all I have done so far is install headers, o/r x-pipe, pypes raceflow catback, and installed a diablo predator tuner.
Thanks for any feedback.

Call Comp Cams and tell them exactly what mods you have and what you plan to do with the car...they will give you very accurate advice as to which cams to go with.

Too much lift and durration has been the downfall of many street cars.

i use comps stage 2. its a great cam and can be used with boost also. do not go with anything above a stage 2 in your car. there is no need. unless your building a full out drag car, they are useless. even if you got the 3 for the lopiness, your bottom end would be shitty and they are very hard to tune and you cannot gwet them to run smooth down low. even on your stock bottom end, you could not spin it ftast enough to take advantage of the cams

and no matter what you do replace the springs even if you go with the smallest one. go with comps springs. go with comp everything you can. they make great stuff.

if you are looking to get something really specific for your set-up, which by what you wrote, you do, check out the site in my sig. He does custom cams for what you tell him that you want.

I ran VT stage 1 N/A cams and they pulled great all around. Used the stock springs too, with the blower.

My motor is currently being built with stage 1 nitrous ground cams...

But I dont know what the cams add becuase I just bought a fully built longblock with stage 2 heads...

Cams are a great pick-up from what I have seen on alot of sites...

Good choice on the Predator chip.

I have V/T Stage II S/C cams, they work for me.

Thanks for all of your input, but I have one-maybe two or three- more questions if you will entertain me for a while longer. I thought that I had my heads figured out. I was (still may) going to get patriot stage II heads. However, I have read some negative feedback about their products. My question is-- Does anyone here currently run patriot heads- also, do the patriots offer much advantage over ported/polished stock heads? Not done yet--- Has anyone run patriot heads and hi-po cams on a stock bottom end? Whew-- there's some things to think about. Seriously, I appreciate any feedback.
