There is a TSP @ Ford that says something about the valves making a ticking at times, but I am not 100% sure...

Is the car still under a warranty of somekind? I would have someone check it out just to make sure...

Probably valvetrain noise. Mines been doing it for a few years now just too lazy to fix it. You can replace 1/2 to 1 quart of your motor oil with tranny fluid and it can help or you can replace 1 with some brand of pure synthetic oil. Lucas makes a good one. I did that and that took away a lot of it.

Someone told me that sometimes a slight clicking noise indicates a vacuum leak... don't know how true that is.

ahhh... well, at least you know what it is now! A hell of a lot better than to still be sitting there scratching your head and wondering what the hell it is... I've been there before and hate it.
