You know what 2kGT ive been reading this post since it was started and for you who claims to know so much about how mustangs work would understand that you have to base your gears on your driving style and what you have done to your car not just what you think is right. He has a different set up than you and different driving style, so if 3.73's work better for him than 4.10's then so be it! Stop trying to tell him his 3.73's are pussy gears and shit like that because its getting a lil old.

Oh, well thought it was a little closer. We don't have a track in Savannah anymore. Would have liked to go up there one weekend to see what actually happens at the strip, before I head back to Ga.

I just installed my 3.73's. I really haven't noticed much of a difference thus far. I can tell their there, but I didn't notice what I thought I might. That's just my .02.

But how much power are you putting down? That has everything to do with it. Just like 2kgt's pussy car. he doesn't have enough power to utilize a taller gear, and if you just drive the streets with not much power then 4.10's+ are great, but you start putting down real power at the strip and that can change quickly.

why is that bs crumbie? Its the truth. If you ask anybody who has a mustang with a serious motor, im not talkin bolt ons but a blower and such 95% of them go down to 3.73's because they are a more useable gear for the power they are putting down. A friend of mine is putting a 2jz motor in his notch back and he went from 3.73's to 3.27's just for that same matter so he could use the gear more.

so, a top fuel car is going to be faster with 4:10's than the 3:20's? and going thru the traps in 5th is more an advantage than 4th? explain
